My wife and I took our son to see Christmas lights at a Berks County park, Grings Mill, in Wyomissing. The park is located right along the Tulpehocken Creek, which is a popular fly fishing creek in this area. For a five dollar donation, it was very nice, which is a better option for us then to drive to Bernville for the popular Christmas Village.

The evening was spent enjoying a train model display, pictures with Santa (AGAIN) and viewing the light displays.
And like I said, the park and creek are a popular fly fishing destination. The reflection of the lights shows up better on the water then the actual image. Plus this was animated with a casting motion.

2013??
I am big into setting goals for personal growth and in your career. Afterall, being in sales, it seems your whole day/week/month/quarter/year revolves around reaching goals.
So in the next week I will finalize my 2013 goals. These are subject to change and modifications as the year progresses. Obviously you do not want to set yourself up for failure or make these items to easy.
One item on the preliminary list:
- 2x/month update blogs (this blog)
I have dreams for this blog, which may include a name change.
Update to be coming soon, stay tuned...

Fall Prep Work
Summer always seems to be very busy, which has been the case this year. Working two jobs (roughly 75 hours a week), having an active life style, wife and two year keep me very busy. Fishing, tying and general person enjoyment often take a back seat to chores, birthday parties, 'babysitting' and other responsibilities. That being said, Fall is basically here and the yearly migration of salt species has begun. I've been trying to cram a trip to northern NJ into my packed schedule for about a month now. Unsuccessfully I might add. So I've been tying, not alot, but when I get time.
I've put some time into researching rainbait and a Spring Montauk trip, which would be done for research towards a Fall trip. I've yet to propose this to my wife, which my plan would be to use it as a "family trip". We'll see how that shakes out.
Early November is often a trip up to Sandy Hook with a group from PA Flyfish. I've yet to work out my schedule to make that trip, but I will work on it. Hopefully plan on getting up Saturday and staying into Monday. I've always brought a decent selection of sand eels & rainbait patterns. This year will be no different.
But this is only some samples of new additions or restocking on the box. The large bulk box looked alittle weak. This is the fly box I use to load up and then stock a smaller box for what I need for the trip.
So, lets hope I can work out this schedule and get out on the water to use some of this material!!

Ice Man Minnow
Well, FINALLY!! A very frustrating week with trying to download a video. With a little help from my wife, I got it. Here is a video of the how to for ice man minnow. Its a copy cat design from Greg Senyo.
Greg Senyo Ice Man Minnow
I had dreams of making this a cool video with addition step-by-step text, background music, etc...I couldn't figure out how to do what I wanted, so here is the uncut/unedited version for your review. Maybe when I have some more time, I'll read up on editing videos for youtube.
This pattern is very simple, clean and compact. Its a perfect pattern for steelhead, trout, smallies, panfish, etc...Some of the brighter patterns are excellent for river smallies. I have also found it a great pattern for trout.

Technology Incompatible
One of the most frustrating things, at least in this day & age, seems to be technology. Seems most programs, software, hardware, etc...all have their own systems, programs, attachments, etc...Nothing is compatible any longer. Its soooooo frustrating to me. I took the time to shoot a video, actually was allowed the time, last night. Its on the video camera. I can't get it from the camera to the memory card or from the camera to the laptop!! WTF!! I just don't understand. Hopefully some day soon I'll have the video posted (don't hold your breath)!
Here is a picture of the finished product...As a taste.
