Fall Prep Work

Summer always seems to be very busy, which has been the case this year. Working two jobs (roughly 75 hours a week), having an active life style, wife and two year keep me very busy. Fishing, tying and general person enjoyment often take a back seat to chores, birthday parties, 'babysitting' and other responsibilities. That being said, Fall is basically here and the yearly migration of salt species has begun. I've been trying to cram a trip to northern NJ into my packed schedule for about a month now. Unsuccessfully I might add. So I've been tying, not alot, but when I get time.

I've put some time into researching rainbait and a Spring Montauk trip, which would be done for research towards a Fall trip. I've yet to propose this to my wife, which my plan would be to use it as a "family trip". We'll see how that shakes out.

Early November is often a trip up to Sandy Hook with a group from PA Flyfish. I've yet to work out my schedule to make that trip, but I will work on it. Hopefully plan on getting up Saturday and staying into Monday. I've always brought a decent selection of sand eels & rainbait patterns. This year will be no different.

But this is only some samples of new additions or restocking on the box. The large bulk box looked alittle weak. This is the fly box I use to load up and then stock a smaller box for what I need for the trip.

So, lets hope I can work out this schedule and get out on the water to use some of this material!!
